The story
For Lars and Margit Abrahamsson, the Caribbean has never been just a holiday destination. It has been their home, their inspiration and a way of life for more than three decades.
Their Caribbean adventure began in 1991 on the beautiful island of Bequia in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where they owned and operated a hotel. Back then, island life moved at a different pace. Mail was collected from a simple post office box, telephone numbers had just three digits, and the latest news often travelled faster by word of mouth than by newspaper.It was a world far removed from the demands of modern life – a place where time seemed to stand still and the simplest pleasures meant the most.
Over the years, Lars and Margit welcomed an extraordinary collection of guests to their Caribbean hotel, including legendary musicians and international celebrities seeking something increasingly difficult to find: privacy, authenticity and the freedom to simply be themselves.
That same philosophy continues to inspire Mayreau Beach Club & Villas today. Set on one of the Grenadines’ most enchanting islands, the intimate beachfront retreat reflects their lifelong passion for relaxed elegance, genuine hospitality and the natural beauty of the Caribbean.
